Sorry for resurrecting this, but figured Id throw in my 2¢. We've used a 6.4 every day to pull a 36' gooseneck loaded with 18 rolls of peanut hay that can weigh over 2000 lbs per bale. We pull it thru peanut fields, down country back roads, stop and go traffic in small towns, etc... never had an issue. Truck has a DPF and EGR delete, Spartan (on low tunes), and AFE intake. Fuel mileage is good, and power is pretty respectable. On the Duramax note, I've put in a water pump in less than 2 hrs and had an injection pump on in less than 6hrs on mine. They aren't that bad to work on.... I do hate mine tho and wish I never got it. As soon as it hit 170,000 miles it started falling to pieces.
