No, with EFILife you still have limits ... rpm's and fuel are still the limits. You can fake the fuel and rail pressure but not the rpm's ...

All my D-Max projects are running over 5k rpm (most 6.5k rpm), which EFIlive cant hold up ...

Also Bosch doesn't go that hi in RPM's

Volker I really like you , but the truth is that John tuned the NX Mustang to a faster time , at both Drag Week and the Texas Mile

I’m not going to speak out of school, but the EFI live tune on the NX Mustang goes full fuel right up to 6000 rpm's

This is due to JohnBoy 's great tuning and his use of the RPM Performance data logger.
John and EFI have learned some really cool tricks during Drag Week.
John started the week telling me that the Mustang would have to have 2 cp3 pumps, but before the week was over , and with his and EFI's new finds the Mustang could hold max rail pressure and the Industrial Injection Dragonfire pump was more then enough.

The problem with programmers is that they have a generic tune in them, sure you can punch in a few parameters , but its just part of a simply flow chart, choosing one of the preloaded programs . Your not really tuning but just picking which program to use.

From watching John do magic with EFI, Ill tell you that P Pumps will become tire chalks in all but the most outrageous ultra mod pullers.

And besides with EFI , you don’t have to be a cool kid to get the best stuff.

orrr you couold buy efi live put the smarty tunes on your truck one at a time then save them to your laptop using efi live. Once your done you can sell your smarty. That what i did with my ppe. On tha duramax you can do that. so im guessin tha same with tha cummins.
 
cool thing is with the ability to read and save tunes , and the future ability’s to flash tunes in a Cummins . I’m sure there will be a Cummins tune library just like the Dmax’s library , and it will have any tune you want .. With ECM licenses of around $100 for each truck , and unlimited tuning after that on that truck. This will be a inexpensive way to put any tune in as many trucks as you want with out even having a hand help programmer. This deal is going to be great for everyone except people who make programmers

This set up is very close to the Trinity setup that is coming from Diablo


JohnBoy is going to tune my dragster with EFI live as well , the motor is short blocked now , waiting on Greg to finish the new heads , its just taking a longer time having spend thousands of dollars on it each month, ,
 
This isnt going to put anybody out of business. Smarty, BullyDog, Quad, etc will still have PLENTY of customers. I for one will definately run EFI, but Ill never get rid of Smarty and will continue to give them my business. Someone has a good product, I tend to stick with them. Thats why Im not about to ditch Dodge...
