F250/Cummins Swap

8 hr round trip to Rock Island State Park in TN. Cool looking place, plan to go back and camp this summer.

Another trip to TN, but to get a Decked USA system at a much reduced price.
I had built a platform in the bed with a foam mattress for our trip to Michigan's UP. I wanted more storage under the platform and theses systems caught me eye, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $1500 on a glorified plastic pallet. The guy I bought this from had sold his truck and was doing a storage clean out post divorce.
The interesting thing about these is that they aren't full bed length, which allows one product to accommodate almost all fullsize trucks. Their site says the headspace behind the cab was to fit fuel tanks or tool boxes.
My next move is to find a similar material and build a frame to fill the additional space, and then cover all of it with EVA decking foam. I like the look of the one they offer, but $500 for $50-$100 worth of foam cut in a cnc cutter just doesn't cut it for me. ? I'm torn between purple on black or black on purple. ?

I built a header last weekend to make up the gap between the decked system and the front of the bed. I will eventually try to build one out of plastic so that it is weather resistant. It only really exists so that we have a full bed when we go camping.

I need a T4 turbine housing for a GT45/GTX45 turbo if anyone has a lead on one. I've found several in the 7-800 range on ebay. I am not very good at getting rock solid numbers when measuring turbines, so I made a Go-No-Go gauge on the 3D printer with an 87mm bore and an 85mm step.

I have lived near a Civil War Fort for almost 20 years and never bothered to check it out. I drove up there yesterday and snapped a pic.

Hows your Headlights hiding up and how's the light output vs the oem? Curious what your using for bulbs as well

They have been fine. I would have to line up to a stock one to compare because I've adjusted to them. Speaking of adjust, I need to raise the cutoff on them.

I messed up last winter and pulled one out while it was raining and got dirty water in it, so it has a condensation line across it.
I've been running Katana LED bulbs in both positions. I had a solder joint fail on one of them, but that was partially my fault because I installed the wiring in a way that left tension on the wiring and I suppose it vibrated until the wire pulled the surface off the board the LED is mounted to.

The housing manufacturer explicitly says that the warranty is void if you run anything but halogen. The bulbs have cooling fans and force air into the housings all the time, so unless one dies I can't see it melting.
I will see if I can get a picture of the light cutoff.

Cutoff from across a 5 lane with shoulders.
You can see a dark spot on the LH side. It didn't do that with the first bulb but appeared after I installed the replacement.

Last summer I used a skid steer to stack up the sidewalk that looped around out house into tailgate height stacks in order to make room for my shop. I lost track of where I was with the truck and backed in to one of the stacks with my tailgate down. Shattered the step, plucked the emblem off and scratched the shit out of it. I ordered a cheap bicycle carrier to cover it. I decided I was going to try and touch it up but my touchup paint had long since dried out. Then I decided I was going to work out a dent above the handle with a hammer and a prybar. I was mostly successful getting the dent out, but since I didn't have an actual paddle, it made many many small dents.
Anyway, I got pissed and took a buffwheel to all the areas that need fixed.

I don't do body work, but have several places that need touchup.
If any of you guys do body work and want to give me a step by step feel free, or even a video you recommend to watch. I don't really want to mess with anything below the body line because of the recessed logo.

Ouch. I assume it murdered your turbine housing as well? What's the replacement?

I drove my 96 N.A. for a week, not sure you could pull that off with a common rail.

It's cut down some, but I'm not certain how bad. I will take pictures and load up. They are nowhere near as bad as I expected.

Jose at Forced Inductions is working on my order but it sounds like it's going to be a bit before I get it. SX-E 472 and a BD T4 exhaust manifold with external wastegate. I'm going to finish the back pressure sensor install this time.

I assume that should be a nice radius on that turbine housing instead of a chamfer. It could be run but I have no idea how it would act.

Bent up some 1/4" stainless tube for my drive pressure sensor. I ordered the RIFE dual pressure sensor to run trans line pressure and drive pressure, but then I never hooked up the drive pressure. Now I need to find or make a P clip and make another couple of bends.

I've had a brake tubing bender since I was 12 and now that I need it I can't find it. I grabbed the anvils from a truck jack and clamped them in a vise to use for bending radii. Worked fairly well.

What would you expect it to make on the dyno with the new setup? Should chooch pretty good.

I'm gonna say 6-700 based on seat-o-tha-pants and other trucks I've been in at that power. Pretty broad. I'm salty AF I didn't Dyno it in the old charger to get a baseline.

I have to ask but I think Joefarmers truck is closer to 800 with the 472 on it.

I get some more done and see things I want to change.

Fixing a run some shine....

Need to trim the leg that turns down to the sensor. I need to mount it and see what hose I can get to bridge between the tube and sensor.
