Getting my 180 benched

Well, for the sake of conversation and learning, where would one get the springs and shims needed for larger holders, to make them beneficial? And would the holders flow more as designed with the correct springs and shims, or would they still be useless?

Weston might chime in. Seems he has been kinda idle from Comp D lately.

And also a 13mm pump fills your system quicker ie. Dvs, holders, lines, inj . Etc. This takes a much less degree of late fuel to be injected and allows your timing to stay lower . With the 12mm pumps and .93 lines do not mis well witht the slow fill rate with a larger orfices to fil as in your dvs and all that. Just ny understanding..

Could be close to right, but usually way off. I have fait that comp d members will gladly correct me if I'm wrong.. lol

Yeah, I understand fill rate and orifice size, I was just wondering if getting the correct spring and shim would allow a larger holder to be used properly on a 12mm.

I called DPE talked to Rodney Seth wasn't in. Pretty sure I'm going with thm. Hvent started the disassembly of the motor only got head off having it reworked now for top hats , p&p valve job...

I have been wanting to share the build since it was completed about 2yrs ago. But this will be the most significant mods. It's for the puller. 96 Chevy 12 valve...

Lol guy said he replaced my ovf because the modified one I had was too tight and not letting it flow? But it was holding 38psi @ idle for me.

Runs great. Takes so little throttle cruising on the highway that sometimes the converter unlocks and the rpms drop like I'm coasting lol.

He also said that the pump flowed 500cc at 16mm.

I also definitely need to get a gate on this charger. 60psi at half throttle, and I let off out of fear. I don't know how it's going to run on the track next week with me having to constantly use my foot to control boost. I'd really like to be able to run WOT damn it.

Sounds like you need another charger to go along with that one lol.


How much is too much boost for that 67?
 
I don't know how much is too much, but I don't feel safe going over 50ish. Im just paranoid.

Might go with compounds someday, 63 over something BIG. Money is the factor there.

How about a custom S-4? I have one here off the last pulling truck. Has 2 hooks on it.
