Just laid down 572hp & 1126Tq/stock turbo on #2.

I dont see why its so big of a deal, ive done 500+ on my daily street truck all stock besides a PPE tuner {Reg. version} and a Quad boost fooler? If mine is on the 215hp tune and i load it pretty good ive seen 48psi from my stock charger, i usually drive around on the 155hp tune wich made around 488hp i think it was. Im suprised to hear not more people run this tuner? The Smarty my be better, dont know but i dont remember any or many others making 500+ on stock injectors, stock CP3, stock charger, etc.... at least back before the new Smarty tunes, they may be better, i dont read on the 3rd gen stuff that much since ive been running my 12v. His numbers just didnt sounds to far out of spec to me, i know its got to be asking a lot out of that HE351 though...

Just to let you know Dusty, I'm not calling you a liar man.
I was just a little surprised by those boost numbers. In my experience that boost has you clean off the map as far a Turbo efficiency goes. Maybe it's time to install the bigger whistle before the stocker explodes and makes a mess of things.
I have no doubt that your HP #'s are in the ballpark.

Certainly in the ball park.....I again want to say that I was not hating...Heck, I'd LOVE for those to be real!!! I loving see others succeed!!!

I was just saying that the numbers don't add up (mph that is)......When I did my very first pass down the track and several that night....Garmon and I used the calculator to see where I was at HP wise and it came out to 590ish.....Went to 3 Other tracks and made several more passes, All of which calculated to 580-600 ish hp wise.....

Sure enough, I get on Dunbars rollers on Oct. 4th and laid down 584/1167.....That just proves that the numbers don't lie........

His MPH with a good consistant run even with a hand shaker would yield a better MPH than that.......

Congrats to ya man!!! :Cheer:

To many varables for that to work with every truck, exp. with a standard tranny where you lose that boost each shift and major traction issues. A tinny goof at the line and you can throw that pass away as far as making great numbers, its all made up right there at the hit. The hp/mph thing might be a better judge on a truck w/ an auto and fairly concestant traction.

Regardless of 1/4 times. Those are still some sweet #'s on a stock turbo. I doubt it will have a long happy life though.

Was this in Bradford, or DuBois? I might want to go there also.

Did you have trouble in Goshen a month ago? I can't remember if you hopped it or not. Maybe you did because I kinda put a whoopin' on ya.

Or I'm making better power than I think.
Was in DuBois...Predator Performance check out there website and some of the things they've done...heck give em a call, I don't give a chit. And yes my last goshen run wasn't very good...ran too low a gear. I've been competitive all other pulls in FPP 2.6 class...beat bennett and other guys that finished in front of me in the points hand full of times, woulda finished alot better but I missed too many pulls cause of work. Anything else you'd like to add to this thread that help others decide if my power numbers are legit brainiac?

Like I said I do have a SPS66 sitting in the garage...just wanna push the stocker too its limits. Why? Because I can, thats just the way I'am. If it goes and hurts the motor awesome...just an excuse to do alittle motor work. Until then I'll leave as is considering the truck only has 23k miles.

good logic! :umno:

Alright then. I'd say you've pushed it to it's limits and behond.
Time to switch. I mean why not go for more air?

I don't think you really wanna blow it up man.

What percentage are they extruded to? Who's CP3 are you running and how's the rail PSI
Not sure..i just told Jim at Extrude I was looking for 150's...this is what I was sent back don't remember the percent he told me. And it's a DMAX pump that I modded...draws to 19k initially then recovers to 23.5-24k.

Lol no I think you mistook what I said...I'm leaving the motor alone unless I hurt it, not trying to intentially even though it seems that way. Turbo is goin on within the next few weeks when I get time away from work and my other projects. Just wanted to see how much I could get out of it.

i don't see what's wrong with someone doing that others are afraid to do..
good work dusty that truck will be an animal with that SPS66. can't wait to see it next season.

I believe that the SuperFlow reported 570HP, I just don't believe that Superflows produce similar numbers to dynojets. I bet on a dyno jet your more in the 540-550 HP range, still killer! Amazing what these stock turbos can do when you push them.

I too made good HP numbers on the dyno and then had poor calculated HP numbers at the track. I think most of my MPH problem was from clutch slippage, but according to the HP calculator, my 499.2 HP dyno run turned into a humbling 350 calculated HP.

If you do switch out to the 66, be sure to dyno on the same settings on the same dyno so you can make some good HP comparisons between stock turbo and $$$$ aftermarket turbo.

Typically SuperFlows give more conservative numbers than DynoJets.

The SuperFlow loads the snot out of the truck (and can do it for extended periods of time if you want it to) whereas the DynoJet is a quick zing of the roller from say 50-90 mph.

Dusty the only "wierd" thing about your numbers is that you did it with the stock turbo. If you had even a sps62 or something like that, I don't think anyone would blink an eye.

Maybe you just have one that'll take a lickin'.

Also think you should correct your numbers down due to the cooler weather. Did they give you any of that? Usually a SF will spit everything out on a disk if you aks fer it.

there's nothing "wrong" with it per-say, but if he dusts his engine by fragging the stock turbo, I'll be forced to point and laugh :o

I don't need to break stuff to have an excuse to upgrade, but I don't have a wife controlling my finances either :p

Sorry, I facked up, the numbers were corrected...I miss wrote the first post I meant to say they were corrected down lower cause of the weather. Just havn't had time to upload the sheet since I'm down in WV working till thursday I'll make a point to have my buddy get the scanner working for me, or I'll just take a pic with the digital. Until then anyone is more than welcome to call Predator Performance and ask about the 06 Cummins they dyno'd last friday.

Me either...22 and single with just way too many toys and hobbies. Selling the quad soon though, 8grand just sitting in the garage collecting dust would put a nice jump start on another truck. Hmmm...anyone want an 08 LTR 450 Special Edition, decked out and F.A.F lol.

You are correct, the Superflows are more accurate.

Cooper, not a fair comparison at the last Goshen, since you had the ORIGINAL Sled Puller coaching in your corner.

As far as his MPH being off, I dynoed 574 years ago with twins and a Dual disc clutch and had trouble breaking 100MPH in the 1/4.
I needed a HALF mile track, lol

yeah i dontbelieve in the mph crap who cares you cant shift a standard like an automatic can so your numbers are gonna be lower wo basically what theseguys are saying is only an automatic will dyno high hp numbers because they are faster thats a crock, i congragulate you on your numbers NO dyno is correct so who really gives a crap if its a synojet or a superflow the only way to get real numbers is an engine dyno period. Congratulations on the numbers

Have you guys ever noticed that when you use a horsepower calculator they usually say this

"Simple Horsepower Calculator
NOTE! This is just an estimate, and is probably not all that accurate.

This program will give you a ballpark estimate of your horsepower. Please don't make the mistake of quoting these numbers as if they meant anything.

There are two simple horsepower formulas that can estimate the on-the-pavement horsepower for a given car."

They use the most basic equations to estimate horsepower theres two variables weight and trap speed or weight and e.t.

Which is y you go to a dyno and dont use the calculator except rough estimates.
