Let's talk S465

Does anyone have a picture of the Cummins 3957380 elbow that was mentioned earlier in this thread for the compressor outlet?

I really don't think it will work very well, the elbows that work have more of a radius to them. These might though, if you rotate the housing around enough.

The elbow in the picture on the s300 is from a 1st gen which is 2.5" instead of 3" like a 2nd gen. The outlet on the big elbow is 3", same as 2nd gen. The only other difference between the 1st and 2nd gen elbows (other than outlet size) is that the 2nd gen elbow is not quite a full 90*, but I still think it will work just fine being that it doesnt have to be perfect due to the silicone boots.

I have the same elbow ^^ as the above pics on my s400 works with stock IC pipe on 2nd gen ,3rd might be different don't know! It's not the easiest to put on thought! Clamp the IC pipe and boot to the elbow then put the v- band together while someone holds the front of the elbow up about a 3/4" to 1"!:st::rockwoot:

Why not just build an elbow with a 3" V-band (or what ever size it is) and a 3" aluminum 90, it's not like there expensive.

Anyone with a 12V ever run a 465 on the street, just wonder what it was like.

Lets be realistic...

1. Flange - $30

2. Reducer - $14

3. Elbow - $35
http://store.airflo.com/alshra90deel8.html

Total - $79

Versus $38 for the cummins elbow...
You do the math.

Someone had mentioned they used the cummins elbow and had to lift up an inch or so while putting that on. I don't like the way that it seems to fit. While it might stay together. I would rather have something that fits correctly rather than save $50 or so on something that fits so so. Plus the cummins elbow doesn't have the nice radius to it.

I would think if had a bigger radius in 3" you would be up against the frame. I ordered the Cummins one should be here in a few days.

Post a picture of it mounted up please if you can. Local is supposedly picking up my turbo monday so I'll be ordering one of those to go with my new turbo!:rockwoot:
