NX Duramax Mustang gets New ZZ manifold , just in time for Hot Rod Drag Week 2010

whats the 25th

Mike is going to do more testing with slicks and a billet imput shaft . The car is expected to run mid to high 8's the mph will surport a 8.60 if it had somthing more then a small street tire

here are some pictures of Drag Week that Mike gave me while I was up there , they were taken by Zack Gabanyicz , a 10 year old , great pictures Zack

The NX Mustang in the rain, try this in a race car

fixing the broken input shaft , with almost 1100 rear wheel hp this was going to happen, a new 300 m shaft was only $250 bucks

,
Have they ever ran the thing w/out no2 down the strip?

with a good Air to water intercooler , I would bet that in a sled pulling application this engine would really work great in the 2.6 and 2.8 class.

getting ready for the Texas Mile now , I'm not sure where the limit is on this Car.

210mph , maybe even 220 mph.

Did I read that wrong or did you just suggest driving a funny car on the street ?
In FL. head lights tail lights, some sort of mirror and dot tires and your good to go. Not saying this should be abused by everyone but long as your not screwing around all the time on the street they leave you alone

no not really just how fast a diesel FC could go with a good engine.

Yes, I’m getting closer, just got the Coan aluminum bolt together Mega convertor in, its was a big chunk out on my wallet. I’m waiting on heads now.
I plan on making passes as soon as I can, I have the Texas Mile in 3 weeks with the Beetle , and two other projects as well. So it’s getting as much attention as I can spare right now.

here is a fact

With the power the NX Mustang made on the 154 mph pass the dragster would run an easy 6.98 on a street Dmax, with easy tuning for the limited traction. There will be no traction issues with the Dragster , or transmission breakage’s .

here is another fact. i have nothing against you greg and have spoken to you many times on the phone but how can you state so called facts on a setup you have not run down the track? real world is WAY different then computer calculated numbers.

He'll find out just like i have!

What you don’t understand is that I have many years of doing this. The parts are proven; the convertor is the very same Coan convertor that I ran 8.29 @ 167 mph with in the Predator truck.

The engine program is proven in the Mustang. The transmission is proven as well as the gear ratios

I have many years of dragster experience in the hardest convertor class in NHRA , competition eliminator.

Wade you are just too hard headed to listen, to me or JohnBoy, you would have been much faster on about the 2nd pass with an experience driver, and a proven transmission combination.

You have zero experience or even a license in the truck you built. We have all told you that a clutch will take much more time to work out, and any passes without running nitrous, were wasted, if you’re going to figure out the clutch. I know what’s in you clutch can, and you need to spend 5 times that amount, to get the type clutch, that will allow you the adjustability. its a nice truck, and You will get there, but you have a long road ahead of you, both in learning a new car , to learning how to drive one of these.

I don’t waste time, I have been doing the dragster thing for many years, and some of my, like Mike Wood have been doing this for many years as well.

the time its taking to finnish this car is just money , I spend what I can , but its not cheap. Parts for this car come out of my pocket.

. I stand by my statment , it’s just too simple 1200 proven flywheel hp and a 1800 lbs with driver, of proven chassis. A chassis that is just about as good as it gets magnesium body , titanium rear end with titanium axels , and carbon fiber brakes . slip joint , cable suspended dragster

Remember many years ago, I took a old worn out and put up wet ProStock truck, and went mid 9s when no one had ever going that fast. I did that in the 4th pass at the track.

A years later I put in i the 8’s.
I went out west and this same convertor and gearing program went in the 7’s in 5 passes.

I’ll do a few shake down passes as part power to make sure everything works as expected , then when JohnBoy turns up the wick , it will be second or third fastest diesel period that day and within a few more outings the car will go in the 6’s solidly .

not bragging , in light of the programs listed .

Greg quit telling everyone you will run 6's and do it. We've been hearing this for a few years now.
