Luckily, we only have so many choices with the S06... if I had a SSR with all of the options and no guidance...


I still think that the smarty is the best tuner on the market for my truck at this time, tho. I'm not going to mess with the success I've had.

I think this new tune is more drivable on my truck, but the old TNT tune I had feels like it had more power in my SOTP opinion.

hey TY its Bob... met you up at numidia 2 years ago.... but anyway from my understanding and talkin to Bob..... if you adjust the timing on an odd number it over writes the timing profile that is there from default... so if your on 9 and the default timing is 2 and you adjust the timing to 2.... it over writes the timing setting and changes it to 2 which is what was there anyway.....it doesnt "add" the timings... the big descrepency that i cant seem to get an answer to is this.......the new HP on TNT/R for 8 and 9 are 260HP my understanding is 8 is 260HP from fuel.. and 9 is 260HP from fuel and timing...so with that said SW8 fuels harder but doesnt run as smooth.... so if you run SW 8 and set the timing on 2 would that be more net HP then SW9 or the same???

On the old TNT there was NO difference between sw8 and sw9 other than timing.
If you run timing 2 on sw8 it is the exact same tune as sw9 or should I say within .0001% of each other and I'm sure that goes for every other sister file.
The new TNT R is a scripted file so I can not read it to compare them.

DODGE74 Were you reading this from a vin-locked TNTR or the Revo TNT from the Mads website?

It was from the regular revo TNT.

I'm sure that I could read the old TNT R version if someone near me was running it.

I live next t Greg (Dockboy) but I'm pretty sure he is running SSR now.
 
i've always been under the understanding that each sw setting nets the same power lever (per se), one just does it w/ added timing (1,3,5,7,9) and the other does it w/ added duration (2,4,6,8).

so, i've always thought that if you used an even number setting...and add timing to it, you essentially just set the smarty up as if it were on a higher sw level.

please correct me if i'm wrong, but this is how i understood this to be.

i personally would keep the RP down to stock for DD'ing. i know a lot of folks run added RP w/ the smarty while still DD'ing their truck but i'm a little cautious when it comes to the RP. w/ that being said, i still use my mp8 for the added rail pressure at the track...but i can't tell (from you sig) if you have an mp8 or if you are just using the smarty.

on my 06, I had a VNT turbo that I could completely control.

if I ran TNT9 and had the vanes wide open at 70mph (0psi boost and no chance of making any) and eased into the accelerator, the truck would black out the highway.

If i ran TNT8 with timing 2 (default timing on the odd SW's) under the exact same conditions, there would just be a slight haze out of the tailpipe (and the truck would actually spool up quicker with the turbo vanes wide open vs. TNT9)

they are NOT the same tunes. TNT8 with timing has been my favorite tune ever since that little discovery

I have EFI Live and I have personaly read both tunes and KNOW for a FACT that if you add timing (2) to sw8 it is the EXACT same tune as sw9.
Keeping in mind you must keep all other setting the same.

With EFI Live you can compare two different tunes and it will TELL you what files are different so unless you have EFI Live, you do not know.

what ver of TNT? the off-boost tables are exactly the same?

I am aware of what EFI live is. I'm just speaking from real world back-to-back testing in my truck
 
Doesnt matter what version, updated versions just have updated Chrysler files.

Same exact settings I was running on my vin locked TNT-R. drivability is better, pulls real hard.
But hits 1500* pretty quick, 60psi also. Never got over 1250* before, and around 56psi. RP is up also to 26k.
 
Sorry about the sig. I need to fix that. It's on a 07 5.9, with alot of stuff, time, and money.
 
Credit were it's phucking due, loaded up the new TNTR and damn, way more refined.
