Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Unless he's on a hill........ Had one and power wasn't its strong suit.

That's the only downside I can think of, you'll manage to out pull a stock S60, but forget about hanging with cats. Haha

Just been looking for a older truck and ran across a 379 with a fresh n14. Hadn't really been considering a cummins truck until this one came up.

The N-14 is a solid engine. I know the later, higher HP engines had a few issues, but the 460's were solid engine that has good power, good reliability, and good longevity.

how does an owner operator go about getting started with loads?? load board?

Or lease on with a company, and run under their authority.

In your sig...what is "cutom trucking"? Haha just messing with you

Unless you can find a steady gig, running on your own is hard. A lot of those brokers like to string you out for 60-90 days.

hauling grain for 3 months out of the year aint enough for me to justify buying a nice newer rig..ive talked to a few people about leasing on but im not sure on all the finer details yet..i'd like to do local and overnight hauls..but wouldn't mind getting out and seeing the country for awhile.

A friend of mine is leased on with a local company pulling a dump trailer. He is home everyday 99% of the time. In his past three years he has stayed out overnight one time. He runs OH, KY, MI, IN, IL, PA, and WV. He also has a hired driver for the weekends, so his truck runs 7 days a week for the most part. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask and I can answer them or ask him and he can answer.

Where are you from?

Feel free to pm me if need be.

My search for a 379 might have ended... Found 98 & 99 w900's both mid 500k miles, 13spds, cats. Going to look at them both this week.
