I've read about 100 466 threads that went no where. I think this might be the first one that gets finished.

are the factory pistons fly cut?

depending on the year, i know that the later year dt466's and dt466e's have factory fly cut pistons, and it looks like the older ones do to judging by this one.

It's a 1988 DTA466C.

Got the engine stripped down to block and rotating assembly.

Good place to sore parts

Saved another IH. Dropped it off at a friends place to sell/part out.

Time to do a little boxing where the engine will be twisting....

That's it for now, waiting on the flange yokes for the rears.......

Thanks. Made the appointment to get the frame shot peened, waiting to drop off my rears to get setup and going to order the engine kit and finish tearing the engine down.

Got a bunch of little stuff done, got the "studs" through the tcase crossmember.

separated and cleaned rear springs, some rusteloum and graphite paint and new nylon sliders.

Trimmed the ends of the helpers so they look the same

Heavy shackles for the front from ruff stuff

got the flange yokes!

Drug the frame outside, made an appointment to have it shot peened, taking the rears to get setup tonight to have them setup. Going to tear down the engine all the way to replace the liner bands and measure the pistons.

Had a friend that works t the International dealer bring over some special tools to measure the liner protrusion, the cylinder to wall gap and to yank the liners!

HOLY CONNECTING ROD!

Time to order a gasket kit!!!

Found a couple scored main bearings. the crank is spotless though, so i'll just get a bearing kit too.
