EFILive Beta First Impressions

I agree with swole 100%. My nastiest tune I have now sucks to drive. Its on or off with barely touchn the throttle, smokey and surgy as heck and has to be hard on parts. I would love to be able to flip a knob and go for kill to cruise mode without takein 5 mins to download. But right now ill take what I can get lol. Iam ready for efi live!!!!!!!
Isn't that why you guys want EFILive? So you can make a powerful tune that isn't a PITA to drive. I drove my built Duramax at full power all the time. Ran 11.13 @ 123.5 in the 1/4 and drove it home on the same tune.

That would be ideal lol. I don't tow with my truck so it will be a little easier to tune it. I'd love to make more power than I do now but be able to drive it that way. You Dmax guys are spooled lol

Can't. Damn truck is in Oklahoma. Danny and I are gonna get it feb 26. Good to hear from ya. Everything going well?

No. Silver. Gonna go with black wheels, bumpers and stack.

Silver!!!

Nice Choice!!

Oh, I'm not saying that most of the time I wouldn't run around on kill! Heck, I do now with my "Canned" tunes... But with the SSR beta, I've got a bit more tunability.. Buy my PPE was on Kill all the time too.. I just have to drive it careful..

I have no clue about EFI and would probably just have to have one of you "know it all's" about EFI to just tune it for me... But for the occassional towing situation, a "Switch" would be nice...

But hey, Beggers can't be chooser's!!

Do what you Do!!!

As Josh pointed out, great thing is you can daily drive a big HP tune. With my LBZ, I tow 18,000 trailer everywhere with a tune that will run 12.4's by just dropping said trailer. If I turn the switch, my wife will drive the truck around town all week and then bracket race it running 11's on the same tune (stock long block/single stock cp3).

I'm not sure EFI Live will make more HP over current setups (I believe so), but the drivability will be much better and the end user will have control over injection timing, injection duration, pilot and post and be able to log it all.

This is a good thing for HP, MPG, and longevity of parts. Big injectors and dual pumps can be dialed in perfectly.

Drivability!!!!!!

Not sure if its been mentioned yet. But I currently own EFI live and use it on a duramax. When all the beta is done will I be able to download the software and use it on a cummins also?

I cannot NOT wait...I like it on our LMM Twin Pump/turbos although the LMM just spanked MY 03 running Robs Tune its the truck form JoshM with some added Mods.I certainly Hope the EFI give us guys some rail pressure options, Most of the tunes available don't have the tuning available.

I agree.....with complete tuning, my hottest tune IS my DD tune, and my wife can drive it. There is more to be had with the Cummins.....my power curve comes on sooner and WAY longer than when I was on the smarty/stock ecm.

It must be nice to use 1/2 your throttle peddle travel and not be sideways...

I can't wait. I'm tired of hovering over the throttle. Even with stock torque management.

Is all this real rail pressure tuning going to help eliminate the rail pressure hang too?

No kidding..... On the rail pressure control, there should be a table that is a "look ahead" table with fuel quantity vs pressure that outputs expected PWM to the FCA.

Rail pressure is a closed loop between the rail sensor and the FCA...BUT there is a expected duty cycle variable that gets averaged into the output. The closer this expected duty cycle is to what is actually needed the better the response of the system.

Now when you add more pump....the expected duty cycle to fuel quantity commanded should match it.

Sure is interesting to see what they come up with and all they can get too.

I was looking at your link it and don't say nothing about 06 07 only
so now can u get it 03 thru 07
The license update is only required once, and covers all of the Cummins support your V2 is capable of. Cummins support will be released in stages as it's developed.

A Black V2 will support 05+ Cummins vehicles.
A Blue V2 (with circuit board changes) will support 03+ Cummins Vehicles.

Support will be developed/released as follows
05-06 5.9L CAN support
07-09 6.7L Can support; (may develop 09.5 support concurrently or separately)
03-05 5.9L SCI support.

If you have a Black V2 and need to tune 03-05 Cummins vehicles, you will need to purchase a new Blue V2. Upgrade paths from Black to Blue will not exist.

Cheers
Cindy
