HTT wastegate TEMPORARY FIX, while waiting for the real

Like I said 5 posts ago.
I hope everything works out for everyone with a SS housing.
Me personally, I am glad I listened to a good turbo builder on this forum and stayed away from the SS housing.

Well. The flutter Is gone. I still need to adjust the gate a little. But the 2 time I got on it the gauge was stable. I'll get more seat time and report. Honest think the boost actuator is the issue

As far as lash. .8 intake. .18 exhaust. I have plans to check the lash soon

Glad your getting it figured out.
I know you have spent alot of hours fixing something that should have be addressed along time ago, on your time.

damn tony

you like htt bout as much as the mods and some of these other clowns like me

i love my shinny turbo

gets here monday

nuthin wrong with those rusty things u run tho

except that the gates are too small

yea ouch

like ronA said, if this new fix dont do it hes got a 1/2" shaft designed that will

once n for all

if htt didnt care why did they draw up the arms that ron made (and pay him to make em outta 4130 moly)?

You mean IF the puck issue ever gets fixed. To me it doesnt sound like HTT really cares.

As far as wastegates, Not on my diesel.
But i have ran quite a few when I had my turbo charged stang.(Before turbos were cool)
My bro runs one on his 88 rx7, that puts 450rwhp to the ground out of a 1.3liter that runs 10.80s.

And my best friend runs 2 of them on his big block 454 with twin 88s. Helped him for 3 years building that beast.

What a little setup and adjusting to have a better setup. I like to tinker.

I guess you know all.:hehe:

There is alot more to the story of my external gate that you know. I have been running one for over 2 years on a diesel, never said I new all. Kind of curious of those gas turboed engines hitting 65-85 psi of drive pressure.
The simplicity of the internal gate is very nice. Tinkering is fun, but when a failed component or something came out of adjustment costs you a few places you will appreciate the simplicity of a simple setup.

More headaches than whats going on now with HTTs disaster?:hehe:

Doubt it.
Maybe we all ought to go back to HX40. That would be prety safe and headache free. The whole deal with the waste gates is they're the next weakest link to fix. HTT in my opinion is going about it the right way. I've had twins on my truck for about 2 years and haven't had a problem.

agreed.....maybe a little late but better late than never

2 years? hummm. my junk will kill a stock arm in 15 mins and i dont have very much fuel yet, not very much at all. dont see how anyone could get 2 yrs outta one unless they either had stock fueling and/or never towed anything

I agree with you 100%, and like I stated, I have no experience with an external on a diesel.
Dont get me wrong, I do really like the simplicity of the internals.
IF they get everything worked out to where they work like the Cast Iron setup, they I will consider buying one.

Like I said earlier, I was told to stay far away from the SS housings. I had the cash in hand and was ready to upgrade to one, and they flat out said NO, its not worth it, YET.

Sorry about the smartass remark.:Cheer:

This SS housing is great, flows good, keeps the heat up, and bypass's lots, beef up the gate and all is right with the world....now if customs would just release my parts....:bang

My plates are apportioned at 36000#s and pulls that pretty regular. Fuel is just and edge box. I waste the top turbo around 20psi and try to keep boost under 50psi.
I know for a fact that HTT has been working on this for some time and this is the best working desing as of yet. I'm sure they wanted to make sure it would fix it and not just throw bandaids at it.

I had mine for over a year before I took it apart and looked at it. It was still sealing but the arm was slightly bent right where it makes the 90 deg bend. Trucks been over 700hp the whole time. Been over 800 for the last 4 months. At full fuel it will go over 900. The internal gate is keeping the pressure ratios right where I want them. If you aren't running nitrous and are under 1khp, I doubt an external gate is needed with twins. I prefer the 16 cm to the 13 though.

No harm no foul!

Checked out this one that came through our door recently, I looks alot different than the one I had about 1 year ago. This the updated fix?

I didnt have time to read all the pages.. is it all htt turbos or just the ones with the ss housings?

HTT turned my charger around in no time at all, I upgraded to the 64 compressor and with the new wastegate fix lag is much less than it was with the 62 and leaking wastegate. I am super happy with HTT's service.

Tonight I"ll be some miles and heat to the bullseye actuator setup.

I might bump the turbo up to a 66 wheel some time. not this year I don't think. It's costly.

I would check with ED on upgrading to a 66.

They were more than reasonable on a quote for an upgrade to a 64. And I'm cheap.
