U D C

Just checking but do you know who Rip Rook is??

Never heard the name once before his post.

Still doesnt change the fact that beta testers have had this product for months now and haven't said anything.

I would have to say we are not going to hear anything about UDC's status good or bad on any forum because of industry marketing strategies and secrets..

Way to much scuttle butt...

When it's ready it will be released and then you still won't hear much about it other than it's performance potentials from us..

U guys will Love EFI Live!!

EFI Live for the 03-05 owners is like an Urban Legend.......Something you hear alot about and may never see in your lifetime!.

Really?

Really? your talking about urban legends in the UDC thread? interesting. Well i guess there has been one sighting by rip so who knows.

rlawless, how come they don't step up and say anything like hey, be patient, they are working on it and its worth it, instead of saying nothing? IIRC efi did 597 on a stock stick, stock turbo truck, sounds like a loooooooong way to go.

I hear ya! No clue about why they wouldn't step up with some customer support.. maybe they dont want to step on their cranks again by saying something like before..

I would think that if you were producing a product and people were literally changing many things that cost money and time just so they dont have to run your product and rather run the competitions your doing somthing wrong.

Swole, Rip works at Source Automotive in Washington. Very pleasant person.

LOL

I know who he is!! :poke: Delt with him several times and his staff... Great Folks out there.
I was asked if HE (full pull) knew who he was... So he'd understand that Rip's not your average low post count guy...

it is still just one beta testers reply, at least we know Bob is watching.

There is a thread I started a few months back. I am quite happy with UDC, it is a great setup. I am not a max power guy, but use it for towing. It has made my truck very different, in a good way. I was able to tune for my hard parts and get rid of the box tune oddities.

Also Pat at Big Twin Diesel here in Meridian just did 1400 corrected with it, about 150 hp over SSR and its a nice smooth graph.

Both threads are on CompD. It's not a huge sampling, and I realize the quietness from MADS is frustrating but I bet the wait will be worth it. Marco has a habit of making his product worth the wait.

Rip owns Source Automotive, and it's in Oregon. You're right though, he is a very pleasant person.

Rip has been at this a long time. The first thing I bought from him was a set of gauges for my 02. This was in late 2002 I believe. His advice has saved me a lot of money over the last decade.

I'm one of the beta testers. My testing has been delay for the last couple of months due to the truck being down.

Some of the answers people want I honestly don't know. Does it fully fuel past 3800? I don't know. I don't run my truck higher the 3800. What I can say is that I was having a problem with a 1-2 shift, and it would hit 4200 (where I had the rev limiter set to). That was in 1st gear though, so no idea if it was fully fueled.

Can you use it to get rid of the "injector" rattle. Again, I do not know. I don't have the rattle.

What I have done though, is make a "tune" that makes it easier to drag race. I changed the rail pressure, timing, and duration maps, to make the truck quicker to build boost, but then it has a flat spot, so that it is easy to hold it at the same boost each time. Once launched, I ramp everything back up, quickly and smoothly. Before someone asks, these maps are build for my truck, with the mods done to it. On someone elses truck the flat spot, and ramp up rates would probably be completely wrong. You would not want to drive this tune on the street. It was created for one purpose only, and that is to drag race.

I've started working with UDC again in the last couple of days, this time for a street driving tune. I live at 4600', and it has been in the high 80, low 90's. My goal is to improve low speed roll on response.

sounds impressive paul, but having to re tune to street drive, sounds like a bit of work. I guess it would be tough to run 11.5's, and then try to drive home in that tune, unless the programming was good enough to handle that tall order.

Not to keep bringing this up but the efi guys are not street driving on their dyno tunes or drag/pull tunes.. same thing for UDC i would think.

My goal is to tune it. run fast and drive home. If that' means I run 0.25 slower.. Fine. Just cut the WOT @ 0psi smoke... bingo! done! :)

Incorrect...I pull, drag race, and tow all on the same tune.

So UDC should provide equivelant results.
