Post 60' Times, Manual Transmission

Ford uses the same trans as the dmax, second or what i call 3rd should not be a problem with a clutch, i use 3rd (your 2)! 4warened launches in the same gear you do!

I thought these were slow, but looks pretty close to the norm... been kicking myself for no reason...

i had one 1.99 60 but i missed a dang gear and ended up running the same time on it as i did on the 2.04 run.

On my 2wd run with Valair organic clutch

2.39 - 60
6.73 - 330
10.11 - 1/8 @ 74.58 MPH
13.04 - 1000
15.57 - 1/4 @ 89.83 MPH

The organic clutch started to slip in both 4th and 5th gear on this run. Thats why I upgraded to the Feramic and started getting serious about 4x4 launches and no lift 3rd-4th gear shifts.

Boost on that run 46psi max, Adrenaline PL7, 1680* EGT.
 
i was wondering if any of you manual guys have broke the tranny shifting from 2nd to 3rd??? i broke my 2nd one a few weeks ago and i want to know if i am the only one

I sheared my output shaft (mainshaft) right where it mates up with my transfer case on takeoff a few weeks ago. Wasn't shifting from second to third though, it was on a 2nd gear launch.

93.54 - 1/4 mph - 93.55

2wd, 2nd gear launch, 265/75 ATs @ 40psi (still too much), Unknown HP, 6600 lbs +/-, Gently rolling off the line with no boost/rpms, and spinning out to 330 on occasion.

I will be getting slicks.....

Yep, broke 2-NV4500s. Sheared the teeth right off of 3rd gear.

The day I drove home from the track and my 2nd-3rd gear synchros started whining and not wanting to shift fast was the last pass for my truck.

No point pushing my 5 speed till it fails just to get a lowly 14.3 or 14.2 ET. My truck actually popped out of 2nd gear mid launch on my last run. I thought for sure something broke!

You guys have fun with your manual tranny'd trucks, I bought a cheap beater for my next drag strip outing. I'll have less money tied up in my 95' beater than the cost of my last nv4500 rebuild.

I will say this, 3800 rpm free rev launch with 5-7psi boost is much more violent than an auto tranny truck at 20 psi. :rockwoot:
 
mine is 1.12 - 1.120 60 ft , 3.027 - 3.32 330 ft , 4.70 in the 1/8 , 4x4 taking off in second gear in the liberty
